We want to welcome our new President Claire Dalladay.

NAG RFC12 Sep 2024 - 20:07

The Past Presidents and VPs have elected Claire Dalladay to become the next President of New Ash Green RFC

The Past Presidents and VPs have elected Claire Dalladay to become the next President of New Ash Green RFC. The appointment is to be ratified by the membership at the next AGM, until then Claire will become the President-Elect of New Ash Green RFC.

We wish to thank the outgoing President, Nick Warren for the last five seasons of his Stewardship.

Claire has a been part of this club since she was a teenager when the club still resided in the old wooden clubhouse and she has seen the club ebb and flow since then.

In 1992 Claire was one of the founder members to set up New Ash Green RFC women’s team and then captained it for 6 years (1995-2001). Incidentally, this side has been the longest continual running women’s side in Kent.
In these intervening years, Claire has taken the role of Club Treasurer which she has looked after the books for 30 years.
Claire was made a Vice President 14 years ago.

Claire says
I see the president’s role as a figurehead position of the club, the top of the pyramid with a strong general committee to organise and run the men's, women's and junior sections of the club.
I would like to see some of the traditions brought back, starting with the President’s dinner in the Autumn and continuing with the Presidents Day in May. I will try and organise pre-match lunches in-between to bring the older members back into the club.
I will continue to help strengthen the funds we current need to fight for our bar and keep the club running to a level required for a Counties 3 Kent side.
I believe passionately in NAGFRC and would like to serve with integrity and commitment to re-energise and re-unify this long-standing club.
